ESG & Sustainability
ESG and Sustainability Strategy
We’re a community of women who share a passion for health and wellness. Our mission is to provide an inclusive, safe and supportive environment where women and girls can come together to run, connect and enhance their physical and mental wellbeing. Our outlook from beginning this business venture was to create a safe space for women and girls to make friends, get active and socialise. For these reasons, we believe that the sustainable growth and accountable business practises of Girls On The Go is of vital importance to all our stakeholders. All representatives of Girls On The Go, for example ambassadors, volunteers and employees, must follow this strategy and every point in it to the best of their ability.
Our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy at Girls On The Go is inclusive of current regulatory requirements and our team, and advisors, will keep aware of updates and amendments to relevant policies and regulations. We will ensure that we always meet the relevant ESG regulatory requirements and, where possible, track, report on, and disclose ESG targets and metrics to a higher level than is required for a business of our size and distribution. Additionally, transparency with customers, suppliers, employees, volunteers and other stakeholders is very important to us and a factor which is always considered. We are very aware of our environmental responsibility. Via sustainable practices, we aim to minimise our own, and our supply chain’s, environmental footprint by responsibly sourcing materials and minimising waste. We strive to keep our operations and events eco-friendly to contribute to a healthier planet for present day and future generations.
Community Engagement is an extremely important component of our business. Our events actively engage with and contribute to the local communities of our location by benefiting member’s mental and physical well-being. We are free to join and have regular events and meets which are also free. Our members and their experience is a key part of our brand and so we are aware of our social responsibility. For this reason, we conduct global member wellbeing surveys and employee/volunteer satisfaction surveys at a minimum frequency of three years (or whenever major changes to the business have occurred). Where feasible, these surveys will be audited by a third party.
As part of our social responsibility, Girls On The Go are unwavering in our commitment to the eradication of slavery and human trafficking in all forms. We have a zero-tolerance approach to slavery and human trafficking and are committed to ensuring that these practices have no place in our operations or supply chains.
At Girls On The Go, diversity and inclusion is ingrained in our culture and is an integral part of our decision-making process for all stakeholders. We ensure to provide equal opportunities to people of all backgrounds, genders, ethnicities and disabilities.
As part of our mission, we aim to continue to promote charitable initiatives. By partnering with charitable causes, we have successfully fundraised money for multiple local, charitable organisations and will continue this as part of our business identity.
We are very accommodating to our neighbours and competitors. For this reason, we log all correspondence including any complaints and our responses and tracked updates to process where applicable.
As Girls On The Go develops, we will continue to adhere to ethical marketing practices and avoid misleading or deceptive advertising. All our marketing messages are, and will continue to be, truthful and all products and services are represented accurately.
Integrity is at the core of our governance as we aim to adhere to the highest ethical standards on all our business practices. Our governance framework has three key pillars in the form of accountability, compliance to applicable regulations and fair treatment of all stakeholders. At Girls On The Go, we are committed to fostering a culture of integrity and ethical decision-making.
We only hold member, employee and volunteer data where necessary for event coordination. Where this is the case, robust privacy and security measures are in place to prevent any data privacy or security issues. We also respect the privacy rights of individuals associated with Girls On The Go. Any requests relating to this from individuals will be met with appropriate understanding and responsibility. Additionally, we will never disclose phone numbers or personal information to third parties. Note that group chats are always on WhatsApp and so are end-to-end encrypted.
At Girls On The Go, we are dedicated to continuous learning and education on all ESG factors. We will continue to learn from all our stakeholders and advisors to continue to sustainably create more welcoming and beneficial environments and communities.
