Welcome to Girls On The Go!
About Us
We’re a girl-only health and wellness community helping women of all ages make new friends and feel less lonely.
Girls On The Go is free to join and is a safe and accessible space for women and girls to combat loneliness, stay active, socialise and make new friends.
Our mission is to make the UK a less lonely place for women by organising a huge range of weekly girl-only events where we provide opportunities for women of all ages to try something new and push themselves out of their comfort zone.
So if you’ve just moved to a new city, feeling alone and want to make new friends, or just want to try something new.. why not come join us?
We have three locations so far:
Girls On The Go events include:
- Weekly girl-only run clubs
- The UK’s largest girl-only bingos
- Singalong cinemas
- Yoga & pilates workshops
- Pottery painting
- Monthly book clubs
…. and so many more!
Making friends as an adult is hard, but it doesn't have to be.

How we started
Autumn 2023
Liverpool
Originally a running club, Girls On The Go was founded in 2023 by friends Stephanie Barney, Martin Mach and Caitlin Lewing, created to help make running safer for women.
At the runs, girls shared their challenges with making friends, inspiring GOTG to grow into a wellness club that hosts in-person events to foster friendships.
Spring 2024
Birmingham
One of our co-founders is from Birmingham, and wanted to bring our mission to their hometown.
This made Birmingham our first sister city, and now we are helping women all across the Midlands make friends!
Summer 2024
Manchester
Manchester, often called the 'Capital of the North,' was our most requested location to grow into.
Girls On The Go has rapidly grown into a thriving community and events organiser focused on health and wellness.
