We often get asked, “Why don’t you do a version of Girls On The Go for men?”
It’s a fair question, and we appreciate the curiosity, it means people appreciate the value in what we’re doing.
So we wanted to take a moment to explain why our focus is (and always will be) helping women in the UK, and to share some amazing resources for men who might be struggling, who are also seeking connection, support, and community.
Our Mission Is Rooted in Supporting Women
Girls On The Go was created to tackle a very real and specific issue: the loneliness, social anxiety, and community gap that many women face in adulthood. If it's moving to a new city, or if your friends have all moved out of your city, or simply needing a safe space to meet others, our mission is grounded in helping women find meaningful friendships and build confidence through real-life experiences.
This doesn’t mean we think men don’t need support or that they don’t also struggle to make friends. They absolutely do, and we understand that their needs are just as valid.
But we also believe in doing one thing really well, and for us, that means building a strong, trusted, and consistent space exclusively for women. That’s where our impact is, and that’s where our heart is.
Resources for Men Seeking Connection
Just because Girls On The Go isn’t open to men doesn’t mean there aren’t equally incredible communities out there for you. In fact, we want to help direct you to them, because everyone deserves connection.
Here are some community-led initiatives, organisations, and spaces we recommend:
-
Our men’s retreats and coaching experiences are designed to support deep personal development, foster authentic brotherhood and cultivate mature masculinity.
Through guided self-inquiry, embodied practices and powerful group connection, we create space for men to reconnect with their purpose, identity and inner strength. In a world that often encourages disconnection, our work builds community and resilience - helping men lead with presence, responsibility and intention.Whether in the wild or in group coaching, this is a journey of becoming the man you’re meant to be - grounded, conscious and fully alive.

INTRSPCT exists to change the narrative of what it means to be a man in today's society. We exist to show men that vulnerability should be welcomed and not shunned
Our vision is to create a community where men struggling with life’s inevitable challenges can come together in a safe and supportive space. We hope to create a culture of care for men in a world where we may seek belonging in the wrong places and things.
Our ultimate goal is to reduce the high rates of suicide and depression within the male community.
We must fight to create and maintain a community of care and vulnerability amongst ourselves and other men around us. It saves lives
If you a man based in Manchester, we look forward to welcoming you to an INTRSPCT Collective event. Hiking, running, bouldering, badminton, padel, Pilates etc. There is something for everyone.
You belong here, at your own pace.

Men's Sheds
In a world that can often feel isolating, Men's Sheds offer vital spaces for connection, shared purpose, and mutual support. They are community hubs where men come together shoulder-to-shoulder, engaging in activities like making, fixing, and community projects, finding camaraderie through creation. More than just workshops, Sheds are places to build authentic friendships, share skills, and rediscover a sense of purpose and belonging. They foster resilience and well-being, demonstrably reducing loneliness and providing a supportive environment where men can contribute their experience and learn from others. If you're seeking community, meaningful activity, and a place to connect with like-minded men, exploring a local Men's Shed could be a powerful step towards feeling more grounded, engaged, and supported.
If you don’t identify as a woman, but you're looking for a running group, a mental health support network, or just somewhere to hang out and meet like minded people, there are great options out there.
Community Is for Everyone
We built Girls On The Go because we saw a need, but we wholeheartedly believe that community is a human need, not just a women’s one. We hope this post helps anyone who’s reached out feeling inspired by what we do, and who’s looking for something similar.
We see you, and we’re rooting for you- even if you’re not in our spaces.
With love,
The Girls On The Go Team
